When I first learned COPY BOY would be published with She Writes Press, I didn’t know that would also mean making so many new writer friends. SWP sponsors a “secret author page” on FB where all of us can come to cheer and commiserate and share advice. It’s led to real, meaningful friendships.

I get to meet a couple of these sister-authors in person in the next two weeks to talk about our books. It’s especially great since their books are AMAZING.

Mary Camarillo’s THOSE PEOPLE BEHIND US is a fascinating, subtle, sad and funny literary novel set in the summer of 2017 in Wellington Beach, California, a suburban coastal town increasingly divided by politics, protests, and escalating housing prices—divisions that change the lives of five neighbors.

Linda Joy Myers’ THE FORGER OF MARSEILLES is set in 1939. All across Europe the Nazis are coming for Jews and anti-fascists. The only way to avoid being imprisoned or murdered is to assume a new identity. For that, people are desperate for papers. And for that, the underground needs forgers. I could not put it down.

If you’re in the Sacramento or Bay Areas, I’d love it if you could join me with my SWP sisters Mary Camarillo and Linda Joy Myers this week and next.
