Come join me in one of the two final launch events for An Unlikely Prospect.
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2–3:30 pm
Peace During an Unpeaceful Time
A Seat at the Table Books, Elk Grove, CA
I’ll be joined by my good writing buddy Dorothy Rice—author, editor, and literary board member—for a light, casual brainstorming session about the ideas in the book. Dorothy and I met at the Napa Writers’ Conference fifteen years ago, and we’ve been writing together ever since. We also share a deep love of local nonprofit 916 Ink. We’ll bring paper and pens for anyone who wants to try their own writing sparks.
Sunday, Sept. 14, 2–3 pm
An Unlikely Prospect Launch Finale
Book Passage, Ferry Building, San Francisco
I’ll be in conversation with the fascinating journalist Laura Wenus, co-founder of News Relay Network. She has launched and hosted podcasts for the San Francisco Chronicle (Fixing Our City) and San Francisco Public Press (Civic), focused on civic engagement and solutions reporting. I’m so pleased that my last launch event will weave together a hidden chapter in San Francisco history with a look at journalism in 1945 and today.
